Quilty January/February 2019

Hey, Quilty Peeps!

Happy New Year friends! We have been so excited about this issue. It is the culmination of months of planning and work. We made lots of changes to take Quilty back to its roots—a little quirky, a little modern, and a whole lot of fun.

Our issue story is “It’s a New Year: Constellations and Astrological Signs.” Let me tell you, we had so much fun finding quilts and stories that had a celestial theme. Space Cadet, Cosmic Menagerie and That’s No Moon are adorable quilts that we know you will want to make. Even if you aren’t into the space theme, imagine these lovelies made up in a fabulous boho-chic collection or even batiks.

We have a few quilts that say “I love you” just in time for Valentine’s Day like Exes and Ohs, and Code Word: Love. We also chose some quilts that are just a touch nerdy like Blinky’s Revenge —which reminded us of a classic arcade game. And, of course, the previously mentioned That’s No Moon, reminded us of the Deathstar if you didn’t catch the reference.

We love this stash busting quilt!

Sharp Dressed Man by Elaine Theriault had everyone in the office oohing and ahhing over the cashmere wool and silk ties that make this baby look like it sparkles. This quilt is so spectacular, we decided to feature it in this month’s Material Difference so you would have a little more insight into how to combine fabrics that have different weights.

Like a well-dressed man, this quilt stands out in a crowd.

I hope that your 2019 is filled with lots of Quilty goodness! The entire Quilting Company team is so happy that you are finally seeing this issue. I would love to hear your thoughts about Quilty–so feel free to leave us a comment.

Happy Quilting,

Tracy
