Family of Three

The cutting dimensions for the F patches in the unit 4’s and unit 5 are 1″ x 5″. The cutting dimensions for the N patches in the unit 15’s are missing. The measurements for N are 4-1/2″ x 9-1/2″. In the assembly diagram one patch was mislabelled. In the fourth row of leaves from the top, the patch labelled “S” (to the right of “T”) should be labelled “R”. In the cutting list, the dimensions and the amounts for R and S are correct. The light orange patches labelled “L” on the small giraffe are mislabeled. These two patches should be labelled BB. The cutting list under Light Orange Solid should list 6 L’s (cut 1 1/2″ x 8 1/2″) and 2 BB’s (1 1/2″ x 7 1/2″).

The cutting dimensions for the E patches for block W are missing. For each block, cut 4 squares (E) 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. The 1/4 frame pattern for block U does not have the seam allowance added to the outside edges. Add 1/4″ to the 2 straight sides of the frame before cutting. We regret these errors.

Starstruck

The cutting dimensions for border #1 and border #3 in Starstruck on page 39 in the July/August ’10 issue (No. 134) are incorrect. The cutting dimensions for the border #1 strips should be 3″ x 40″ and the border #3 strips should be 3-1/2″ x 40″. If the fabric has already been cut for border #1 and border #3, adjust the corner units by cutting new patches for F-J from the remaining fabric. In Part 2 of Orchard View, Sept/Oct ’06 (No. 111) we inadvertently left out the cutting dimensions for the patches. The Nine Patches will finish at 3″ x 3″.

In Shy Violets, May/June ’06 (No. 109), we gave the C patch dimensions incorrectly. If you’ve already cut your C’s, center them on the corners of a block and then trim to make the block square. If you haven’t cut the C’s yet, cut a square 2″ x 2″ and then cut diagonally to make the C’s.
